Enoshima
Last month the I went out to Enoshima with some members of the Japan Photography Mailing List living around Tokyo.
More of the photos can be seen at the japanphotography.com web-site. I hope that soon some of the others who were there will be ready to post some photos.

You mentioned kayking in Enoshima on the Japan photography website. Do you own your own kayak or do you rent? I'd be interested to know the costs of and opportunities for kayaking around Tokyo...

I have my own Kayak. Although I use it much less than I would like, maybe this summer since I don't have a "real" job I can get out once or twice.
Photos of my kayak
It's a feathercraft that can be colapsed like a tent. It allows me to take it on the train, but it is still dang heavy. I find that I don't go out just because it is such a pain to cary and assemble and desemble. Unless I have two days free it does not seem worth it... but every time I go out for only one day I still love it, so I guess it is worth it.
As for kayaking in Tokyo, the Tokyo bay would be great to kayak in, but there is no place to launch. I have walked the whole "coast" looking for a place and only found one tiny spot that I *may* be able to launch from if no police are around.
Generally I go to Zushi or Enoshima. Once I tried to kayak from Einoshima to Zushi, which is usually an easy trip, but there were waves and I chickened out halfway. Other than that, both of those places are nice for day trips. I would really like to try kayaking around Kyusyu though, or the Seito Inland Sea where there are some islands. Maybe this year.
