I see a problem
I see a problem. This photo is one that I uploaded to Flickr yesterday, and am just now putting on my blog. Basically, I guess I should expect my blog readership to drop drastically if I start putting my photos on my Flickr page. Anyone looking there will have no reason to come here.... I mean c'mon guys, fess up. No one really reads because I write... "too much"... ;P But really, anyone who is subscribed to my Flickr updates as well as my blog will only be seeing the same pictures twice... unless i make a new Flickr account under some other secret name...
Not that it matters that much who looks at the blog of course...
UPDATE: I have added the pre-photoshopped version of this photo for reference. Check the link below
This is the pre-photoshop version

I always wondered why you never went to Flickr in the past, obviously you've spent a long time on your gallery and it seems to work just fine for you.
I'm no a photographer (you're pro, right?) but I too write too much, my friends were logging on to my site and battling through my new-fangeled 'blog' to get to the snaps, so I went Flickr and added a random image in the sidebar for link's sake.
You're photos nicely break-up the page here, certainly make a good addition to the RSS Feed. But no one's complaining about seeing images twice - right? Hey, it could even help you out, hotlink to the images on Flickr, your server will thank you.
Have you heard the stat that 60... or is it 80% (?) of readers are just that - they have no need to 'comment' online. We're here to consume.

I'm not sucking up - but your photos have the glaze I can't define (glaze is no kind of defintion, its a... y'know glaze).
Where did your "About Page" go? before I start asking *adopts a child-like questioning voice* "do you photoshop" "what lens do you use" "ooh, a Nikon D70 as if I didn't guess already".
What do you do then? Your search engine doesn't use AJAX so I refuse to use it :D
No really, bring back the collophon!

I do photoshop.
The post after this one shows a comparison of a before and after, and I have just updated this one to show the "before" version of this photo. (This is actually one of my favorites to date)
I use a Nikon D-70 with a cheap Sigma lens 18-50mm 1:3.5-5.6
(For the macro shots like the mantis a while back, I am using another cheap sigma lens, 28-300mm 1:3.5-6.30, but instead of attaching it normally, I open the aperature as wide as it will go and turn the lens around backwards, so that the end that usually points out is held clsoe to my camera. This magnifies everything.)
I photoshop every single photo I post. I have no idea how to get it as I want it without photoshop. I make copious use of the lightness/contrast, hue/saturation, levels, and the dodge/burn tool. I am slowly learning how to use other things, and as I do I add them to my arsenal.
