I got together with some of the folks from my old life -yes, web dorks. I feel strangely drawn to that field because it is fun and interesting work in the short term -creative design and problem solving, a feeling of accomplishment and completion when a program runs or a web-site goes live- but I have a strong desire to do it in a way that has some bigger, lasting, meaningful effect on the world.

I also feel a strong desire to get back to my long rambling posts about sustainability this or that. Not sure if it helps other people think, but my thoughts feel so much less organized and developed since I stopped using my blog as an outlet.

I have several personal projects (not moving forward as fast as I had hoped, as usual) in the works, but am reluctant to mention anything more about them. Namely because I have not completed any of the thousands of initiatives I have mentioned in the past. Something always seems to come up -a new, better idea, or a real-life responsibility. I have good feelings about these new ones though, as my work has been giving me at least some insight into the "sustainability" scene in Tokyo.
