A couple of things to talk about tonight.. actually lots of things, but I don't want to be doing this all night. I have already spent almost an hour taking and making the photos you see below.
I had my first formal "Art Experience" today. Until now I have only drawn during class in school. (never even had an art class). Today however, I skipped out of work early to join a friends art group. It was really great. I saw people using the tools I have seen only in art/hobby shops before now. I have a small idea now of how to use them. Paying money defiantly causes me to concentrate on it more.
I'm planning to go back on a weekly basis, so let's see if I get any better. Below are the drawings I made today. Pretty much crap. In my defense though, before I went I was told by my friend that this first session was a test to see if the organizer would allow me back with the advanced people, or if I would get stuck with the beginners. On top of that, she also told me that they think I do this all the time, and under no circumstances am I to let them know I am a "beginner". With that kind of pressure, I am amazed that I was even able to perform. Anyway, I feel that as I relaxed, (and saw that some of the other people weren't much better, I got a little better. I've also included some drawings and doodles so you can see how much I drew within the past few years when I have a photo, no pressure, and no time limit. I have critiqued some of the drawings from tonight on the larger image pages. I will add my weekly works to see if there is any improvement.
Here are some of my historical doodles.
And these are the drawings from tonight.
There was a great Talk of The Nation the other day about ebay. If you are into the whole internet thingy. I once tried to sell some things as a joke on Yahoo Auction, I would tell you what they were, but my mom is reading the site. What I can tell you is that pair of my dirty underwear sells for over 1,400 yen. And the other items, though no one wanted them, drew thousands of viewers.
