Welcome back! Love your work and I was missing your daily pictures. Moblog is nice too, but I prefer the bigger shots.
Ah, I really didn't know there are grapes in Japan.

Lovely! This is a very striking set of images, Kevin. I think you've done a great job balancing composition, colour, and mood. Looks like you had a visually inspiring journey through Nagano.

Thanks! Glad you like them and were waiting.

I too prefer the larger images over the moblogging, but I have to admit I found myself wanting to make the next moblog post a little too often when I was out there. Mostly I think though it was not because of the mobility, but rather just because I was feeling anxiety about not updating my blog.

As for grapes here, yes there are. Katsunuma is grape central. The town is full of wineries and grape vinyards. If anyone is interested, in the first or second weekend of October they are getting rid of all the left over grapes. It is a huge fesitval where 500 yen ($5) will get you a glass that can be filled up as many times as you like at any winery in the city, and the grapes are all you can eat--- for free! It gets pretty crowded though, as you can imagine.

Lil,
It was a visually inspiring journey. I have a lot of photos, though not as many as I had hoped. One thing I noticed was that most of my photos are wide angle landscape, whereas in Tokyo I take more closeups. Mainly because so much of Tokyo is ugly I have to zoom in to get something nice, but out there you could actually see the sky! It was amazing and I have too many photos that all look the same now, but each time I took it I took it because I though "Wow! That's amazing!".

I love these pictures; I was waiting, too. That Leica lens works magic. Tomoe seemed to be smiling a lot in the pictures throughout. Reminds me of when I forced my then-girlfriend to take up cycling and then got her out on a trip around Biwa-ko, she got just a bit angry at me a few times when I was telling when to up and downshift.
