Rain

The rainy season ended a few days ago in Japan. I hardly even noticed it this year. Aside from a few days when I just couldn't wake up in the morning (my blood-pressure is slightly higher than that of a dead person, and I have found that low pressure mornings don't help), I actually would have rather had more rain.

Beautiful.

Are you an expatriated american? If so, what do you do for a living? I'm curious because I've always wanted to live in Japan.

Yes I am.

Right now I am doing some free-lance web-development. I am just finishing up my last big projects though because I am moving to Sweden in August to go to grad-school (environmental stuff).

When I first came here, I did what everyone does, and got an english teaching job, which gives yo a visa and a foot in the door. Then I did some Investor Relations work for a while with a Japanese company, then became a web programmer for a company which I half-quit back in November.

Yeah I tried to get a job teaching english, but I honestly (and this is after much lucid consideration) think a large part of me not getting the job was my dirty fingernails. Apparantly, they value hyper-cleanliness over there. Oh yeah, and I said that I have to attend catholic mass every Sunday, "will that be a problem?" I was informed that there weren't many Catholic churches in Japan, and it probably would be a problem. Either way, I guess it worked out for the best, but I still do love the japanese culture and wish to visit there some time in the future.

Thanks for the info! :P
